Welcome to Oak Class

All the children have settled in really well this week and enjoying being in our brand new classroom. We have started our new topic 'The Place Where I Live' and look forward to lots of exciting work. Look at our curriculum letter below to find out more about what we will learning this half-term. smiley

All children should have come home with a reading book and their new reading reward chart will follow soon. Please remember to read regularly with your child and write a comment in their yellow reading record.

Year 1 children will change their books on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays if there is a written comment in their reading record book. Please remind your child if their book needs to be changed.

Year 2 children please read as often as you can, it's important to read a little every day so that they can work towards their gold star 250 read badge at the end of the year. Please date and comment on their reading so that their book can be changed when required. Give your child a gentle reminder if their book needs to be changed so that they can tell a grown up and do this independently. Thank you yes

Our P.E. days this half term are Monday and Tuesday, please ensure that your child has their full P.E. kit in school consisting of a t-shirt, shorts and pumps. Also could all uniform be clearly named so that all items can be easily returned to each child.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to speak to me at the door in the morning/after school or alternatively email me at

I look forward to working with you all this year.

Thank you

Mrs Kirkpatrick smiley
